Today was my second experience I can say that even better than the last one, this time I was not nervous anymore because I felt that the students are starting to know about me, and I could even see some different faces with big SMILES and I really like it that makes me feel comfortable in the classroom. I felt that my first class was not so dynamic, but for this time I prepared more activities that I though my students can enjoy. I played some music to add something extra in the class and I want to hope they like it.
Yes I really want to hope they like it because the truth is that they dont like to stand up too much but I will still being trying to make them enjoy the class. Most likely I will need to bring some rewards like cookies or candies because it is hard for me to make them participate, I dont know if it is ok, but I will try too (:
And guys I hope you are doing great in your classes too. GOOD LUCK.
hello sarai...well let me tell you that the idea of making the students participate is really nice. But I think that if you give rewards after the games or activities, the students will participate later just because of the reward and not because they want to. But you can try and maybe don´t give rewards after each activity. If not later, if you don´t give rewards, they won´t partipate. =)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lisha. If you give them candies the first time they gonna want the next time however it would be a nice idea to reward just the winner in that order the rest will participate more! What can you do is try to include topics they are interested in for example for example fashion, cars or esports, etc.
ReplyDeleteHello CHICKEN.....
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lisha and Suly. Giving rewards every time you make an activity is not a good idea because as Lisha says they are going to participate only to get the candies or whatever reward you choose. I would advice you the same thing I said to Kenny. Try to look for new or diffwrent activities rather than the ones teachers make all the time because the students might be bored of doing the same games all the time.
Also what Suly says about adapting the grammar or practice with nice topics, things they like or fashion things is a very nice idea. In that way you will activate their interest and they will participate more.
Thank you girls for your advices and ideas I would take them into consideration for the next class because now it is a little bit difficult for me to make them participate in some activities and at the same time I would like to make them enjoy the games.......
ReplyDeleteWowwwwww girls I like to have classmates with all that experience with students jijijiji
The three teachers jiji Cris, lisha and sweety
Thanks again girls (= take care...................
Sarai, my students requested for candies too. jejje they wanna to be treated as children maybe ... so we might get some for they just to get points from their side and colaborate with you jejjeej. so, hope you do it better everytime.. God Luck!
ReplyDeleteHi!! well I think you're improving your classes and that's good because you're learning from your students and they're learning from you. Sometimes things are like these maybe you prepare an activity for them to enjoy, but they don't like to stand up too much so you can prepare some activities in which they enjoy speaking and maybe writing without standing up. Maybe puzzles, pair work (about a topic that is interesting for teens =)), debates (they put in practice the vocabulary and they don't need to stand up, I already did it, and it was nice because the same problem happens to me) Don't worry if sometimes you make mistakes that will help you to be better!! I hope you give your best in the next class! =)
